Statement

This exhibition was presented in conjunction with SHIZENGAKU: Toward a Future Aesthetics, a collaborative initiative between Seian University of Art and Design and The Museum of Modern Art, Shiga.

Against the backdrop of contemporary environmental issues and an increasingly globalized society, SHIZENGAKU seeks to explore the relationship between art and concepts of nature in the twenty-first century, while pursuing the possibility of a new aesthetic framework.

SHIZENGAKU TSUBOMI: Toward a Future Aesthetics features works by current students and graduates of Seian University of Art and Design, each offering a unique approach to the theme of nature. Through their diverse artistic practices, the exhibition invites viewers to consider how nature is perceived, interpreted, and transformed into creative expression.
